Growing Info, follow in order:
Scarification: let stand in water for 6 hours, remove seeds from fruits, wash in warm detergent water to completely get the oil off.
Stratification: cold stratify for 120 days.
Germination: sow seed 3/8" deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed.
In a Nutshell:
* This is a very adaptable species with silver-gray bark that is nice in the winter landscape. It can take many years to produce the white flowers which are slightly fragrant and appear before the leaves in March and April. The dark green leaves develop to yellow-brown in the fall.
* It blooms in the early spring, showing white flowers with hints of pale pink which are approximately four inches in diameter and have a pleasant fragrance. The flowers are produced before the leaves, as with most members of the Magnolia subgenus Yulania. more...
