Introducing the Tetradium daniellii, also known as the Bee-bee Tree or Korean Evodia. This beautiful deciduous tree, belonging to the Rutaceae family, is native to East Asia and grows up to 20 meters tall. With glossy pinnate leaves resembling those of ash trees, it develops smooth gray bark similar to that of beech trees. In late July through August, it produces large flat clusters of white flowers, which attract large numbers of bees and make it an excellent source of late summer honey. The flowers then produce clusters of seed that are present from late August through November. The small red-to-black berries that follow are popular with many birds. While being an attractive tree with visually pleasing features, the oil from its fruit is also used in making hair oil. Plant a Tetradium daniellii and add a touch of beauty to your garden.
