Bonsai Comments:

Scots Pine needles range from 1.8"-2.6" in length good for Bonsai and have a lovely mid to blue-green color. This Pinus is can assume any shape while keeping a well-developed canopy, and colorful red bark. The bark is relatively thin, red in color and peels easily. Pines need sunlight all seasons. Pinus sylvestris is winter hardy and is an outdoor tree. Watch for cold winter conditions when the tree needs to be protected while their roots are frozen. This species works will with most bonsai styles, the favorite being literati, but not broom.
Not a great choice for the beginner bonsai grower, as may be challenging to train.
