The Pinus sylvestris, also known as the Scotch Pine or Scots Pine, is the only pine native to northern Europe and an important tree in forestry. Its wood is used for pulp and sawn timber products, and it has been widely introduced around the world. This tree is extremely adaptable to various soils and has a distinctive look with its long, bare trunk topped by a rounded or flat-topped mass of blue-green foliage. The Scots Pine has a unique feature of having orange-red bark. It is an evergreen coniferous tree that can grow up to 25 meters tall and has a lifespan of 150-300 years. Its needles are short and blue-green, while its cones are globose and pale brown, expanding to full size in their second year. This adaptable tree is perfect for various landscapes and has been used as a Christmas tree, while also being important in the timber industry and for paper production.
