Introducing the magnificent Pinus jeffreyi, commonly known as Jeffrey Pine, Yellow Pine, and Black Pine. This North American pine tree is mainly found in California, but also thrives in southwestern Oregon, northern Baja California, and the westernmost region of Nevada. Named after botanist John Jeffrey, this tree is one of the most stress-tolerant conifers, and can be easily distinguished from the similar Ponderosa Pine by its inward-pointing barb cones, which feel smooth to the touch. The Jeffrey Pine’s ornamental value has landed it the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit, and its large, oil-rich seeds can be eaten raw or cooked, while the crystallized sap has a sweet flavor and is often consumed like candy. Natural from the forest, our cones are beautifully crafted by nature, with no chemicals or preservatives applied. Keep it out of the hands of small children. Add Jeffrey Pine to your garden and enjoy its exceptional beauty and resilience.
