Growing Info, follow in order:
Scarification: Soak in hot tap water, let stand in water for 48 hours.
Stratification: cold stratify for 90 days.
Germination: sow 1" deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed.
Other: may also require warm stratification, so germination may be delayed by 1 year.

Ziziphus zizyphus (from Greek ζίζυφον , zizyfon [ 1 ] ), commonly called jujube (sometimes jujuba), red date , Chinese date , Korean date , or Indian date is a species of Ziziphus in the buckthorn family Rhamnaceae , used primarily as a fruiting shade tree.
Physical Characteristics  Ziziphus jujuba is a deciduous Tree growing to 10 m (32ft) by 7 m (23ft) at a fast rate. It is hardy to zone 6. It is in flower from Apr to May, and the seeds ripen in October. The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by Insects.The plant is self-fertile. The plant prefers light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils, requires well-drained soil and can grow in nutritionally poor soil.The plant prefers acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils. and can grow in very alkaline soils. It cannot grow in the shade.It requires dry or moist soil and can tolerate drought.
