Quercus macrocarpa x lobata is a tree that was hybridized by bur and valley oaks in the same area. Our collector states that the tree has a single central leader that grows straight up (unless you top it). The bark is furrowed but not platy, more or less in between the two parents. The leaves are deeply lobed with round lobes, slightly smaller than Q. macrocarpa. Hybrid oaks tend to grow faster and produce decent crops of acorns.
