Flooded gum is highly sought after outside of Australia for its timber and fiber, and is mainly found in wet forests and on the margins of rain forests. The glossy dark green leaves are arranged alternately along the branches and the white flowers appear from mid-autumn to late winter. Flooded gum can be used for joinery, flooring, boat building, paneling, plywood, and riverbank stabilization.
