Eryngium planum, also known as Flat-leaved Eryngium or Blue Eryngo, is a gorgeous and drought-tolerant plant that blooms in mid to late summer. Its stunning half-inch flower heads are a fine metallic blue or blue-purple, resembling thistles, and are surrounded by spiky bracts. Native to central Europe to central Asia, this hardy herbaceous perennial can grow up to 24 inches high and prefers a well-drained soil and sunny position. Eryngium planum is also a good bee plant. Its bioactive compounds are used in European folk medicine as a diuretic, stimulant, and appetizer. This plant is an excellent addition to any garden and is especially perfect for thistly plants for full sun and poor dry soil. Order now and enjoy a magnificent plant in your garden!
