Siberian Ginseng, also known as Eleutherococcus senticosus, is a powerful tonic herb with a wide range of health benefits. Used for centuries in China and Russia as a ginseng substitute, it is a pungent bitter-sweet warming herb said to be stronger in its action than ginseng. Regular use is believed to restore vigor, improve memory, increase longevity and combat radiation sickness. Research has shown that it also stimulates resistance to stress, making it widely used as a tonic during times of stress and pressure. However, it should not be used for more than 3 weeks at a time and caffeine should not be taken with it. Its roots are harvested in the autumn and dried for later use. There are many benefits of using this remarkable herb, but please consult a professional before beginning any new herbal regimen.
