Araucaria cunninghamii, commonly known as Hoop Pine, is a majestic evergreen conifer renowned for its towering presence and distinctive horizontal "hoop" bark markings. Belonging to the Araucariaceae family, this remarkable tree is native to the subtropical and tropical rainforests of northeastern Australia and Papua New Guinea. It can reach impressive heights of 150-200 feet with a lifespan of up to 450 years, making it a symbol of resilience and longevity.

Hoop Pine boasts a symmetrical, cone-shaped silhouette with branches arranged in elegant whorls and sharp, spirally arranged lanceolate leaves. Its unique reproductive biology sees male and female cones often growing on the same tree, with male cones forming dense cylindrical clusters and female cones maturing to release seeds during the windy months of November to February.

Ideal for subtropical climates and adaptable to various soil types, Hoop Pine is also celebrated for its high-quality timber, vital to the plywood industry and valued for furniture, flooring, and more. Its historical significance extends to the Aboriginal Australians, who used its resin as cement. Perfect for grand landscaping or commercial plantations, Araucaria cunninghamii offers both aesthetic and economic benefits.
