Senna bicapsularis, also known as Rambling Senna, Christmas Bush, Money Bush, and Yellow Candlewood, is a beautiful shrub native to northern South America and the West Indies. Growing up to 3.5 meters tall, Senna bicapsularis produces leaves that are pinnate with six to eight leaflets and yellow flowers that are 12-16 mm long. The stunning display of golden yellow blooms in the fall attracts butterflies and bees, making it a must-have for any garden. While Winter Cassia may not be showy until it blooms, it looks best among other shrubs like azaleas, hollies, evergreens and other perennials. Plant it with its "feet" surrounded by small evergreens or herbaceous annuals and perennials and watch it thrive. Don't forget to collect the slender brown pods that follow the blooms, as seeds can be collected and used for propagation. Get your own Senna bicapsularis and experience its incredible beauty for yourself!
