Native to forests, valleys, and slopes in the South and Southwest of China, this tree boasts golden pubescent petioles and thickly papery leaves that can measure up to 13cm x 8cm. Its fruits, often found in solitary and unbranched infructescences, are golden to orange-yellow and can reach 1.4cm in size.
