Introducing Acer palmatum ssp. matsumurae 'Burgundy Lace' Japanese Maple! This hardy and beautiful tree is a striking American cultivar of the "ribbon-leaf" group of Japanese Maples. With red coloration comparable to Burgundy wine, it makes an excellent contrast with other upright palmatums. This spreading-type, small tree (12 ft high) develops a wide (15 ft) canopy when given room, making it perfect for smaller landscape plantings. While upright, it is classed in the shorter tree group. With judicious pruning, this gorgeous tree will fit seamlessly into any landscape. Please note that like most seed grown from cultivars, the resulting seedlings may or may not resemble the parent.
