Looking for a unique and hardy fir tree to add to your landscaping? Look no further than Abies nordmanniana subsp. equi-trojani, also known as Trojan Fir. It is native to northwestern Turkey. It differs from species plants by having denser and blunter needles that form v-shaped grooves above the twigs. This native Turkish tree is more heat and drought tolerant than most other firs, making it the perfect addition to any garden. Its needles are highly scented. Synonymous with a number of different botanical names, this subspecies is a taxonomical wonder, with much debate and discussion surrounding its classification. However, one thing is certain – the Trojan Fir is a breathtaking addition to any landscape.
