Introducing the stunning Paeonia wittmanniana, also known as Wittmann's peony! This perennial peony is native to the southern Transcaucasian region and closely related to Paeonia mlokosewitschii. Growing up to 1.5m tall, it boasts dark green and glabrous foliage above, with lighter green and glaucescent leaves below, complete with white hairs that cluster along the veins - a true sight to behold! The lower leaves are biternate, while the divided leaf segments are ovate, cuneate, and often oblique, with an abrupt cut-off at the base. Come April to June, this beauty presents its yellow to white flowers that grow 10-13cm across, with vibrant red filaments, up to 1cm long, and stunning yellow-orange anthers.
