It is a large deciduous tree with dark grey bark and bipinnate leaves with 6-18 leaflets. The tree produces clustered yellow-green flowers and pods containing six to twelve seeds that make a rattling sound. The wood of Albizia lebbeck is used for furniture, canoes, and house building. It is also utilized for forage, medicine, and environmental management. Its bark is astringent and has medicinal properties used to treat inflammation. The Albizia lebbeck is commonly planted as a roadside tree and is an excellent addition to any garden or landscape project.
