Introducing the stunning Betula maximowicziana - Monarch Birch! With its linden-like leaves which are dark green in summer and yellow in fall, this beautiful tree is said to tolerate city life, making it a great addition to any urban landscape. Its white, grayish or orange-gray bark is truly eye-catching, and often exfoliates into long sheets, giving the tree a shaggy appearance. Native to northern Japan, this tree is generally pyramidal to oval in shape, with mature trees reaching around 50 feet in height. The Monarch Birch is known for its exceptional large catkins and mature leaves, which are notably large and dark green, turning a vibrant yellow color in the fall.
