Discover the timeless beauty of Yucca brevifolia, fondly known as the Joshua tree, Palm tree yucca, Tree yucca, and Yucca palm. This stunning plant belongs to the Agavaceae family and is native to the southwestern states of North America including California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. The Joshua tree thrives in the open grasslands of the Mojave Desert, between 1,300 and 6,000 ft, and is particularly prominent in Queen Valley and Lost Horse Valley in Joshua Tree National Park. This tree exhibits a fast growth rate in desert conditions and a life span of hundreds of years, with some surviving up to a thousand years. The leaves are dark green, bayonet-shaped and arranged in a dense spiral at the stem's apex. From February to late April, the tree produces beautiful creamy white to green flowers, which are pollinated by the Yucca moth. The Joshua tree is a true symbol of survival, elegance, and longevity.
