Viburnum setigerum Tea Viburnum is a beautifully rounded shrub that grows up to 12 feet tall and 8 feet wide. It boasts clusters of small, white flowers in the spring, followed by bright red berries in the fall, making for an incredible autumn fruit display. The leaves were once used to make tea, hence the common name. This deciduous shrub is easy to grow in average to well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. It prefers moist loams but can tolerate a wide range of soils. This plant is an excellent choice for shrub borders, informal hedges, screens, or roadside plantings. It works incredibly well in mass plantings or as single specimens. For the best fruit display, plant the shrubs in groups rather than as single individuals for optimal cross-pollination. Viburnum setigerum is native to China and has no serious insect or disease problems. With its excellent ornamental value, this Tea Viburnum is a must-have for any garden.
