Are you looking for a beautiful and hardy addition to your garden? Look no further than Rosa woodsii, also known as Woods' rose. This wild rose is native to North America, including much of Canada and Alaska and the western and central United States, and can grow in a variety of habitats, including disturbed areas. It is a bushy shrub that can grow up to three meters tall, with stems studded with prickles. Its fragrant flowers with five petals come in shades of pink and can measure up to 2.5 centimeters in length. After flowering, it produces red rose hips, which can be over a centimeter long. This species reproduces sexually by seed and vegetatively by sprouting from the root crown, layering, and by producing root suckers. An infusion of the leaves has even been used as a spring tonic. Add some natural beauty to your landscape with Rosa woodsii.
