Rosa laxa, also known as Laxa Rose, is a beautiful deciduous shrub with 2" white or pale pink flowers in small clusters during the summer months. This shrub is native to northwest China and Siberia and can grow up to 2.5m tall. The fruit of Rosa laxa is rich in vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins A, C, and E, flavonoids and other bio-active compounds, making it an excellent addition to a healthy diet. The hips are roundish and can be eaten raw or cooked. Some forms even contain up to 10% vitamin C. The seed is also a good source of vitamin E, and it can be ground and mixed with flour or added to other foods for added nutrition.
