Pinus arizonica var. ornelasii, also known as Cooper Pine, is a medium-sized pine tree that is native to Mexico. This variety is often found growing with Pinus arizonica and Pinus durangensis in the mountains of Durango and Chihuahua. The needles of this tree are similar in length to those of P. durangensis, while its cones are similar in size and attachment to P. pseudostrobus. Its bark resembles P. ponderosa, with slightly less appealing aesthetics. Pinus arizonica var. ornelasii is hardy to Zone 7 and serves as a principal host for several types of dwarf mistletoes.
