Embothrium coccineum, also known as the Chilean Fire Bush, is a small, evergreen tree that grows in the temperate forests of Chile and Argentina. It produces stunning clusters of deep red (or occasionally pale yellow) flowers in spring, which have an attractively dark grey, spotted bark and light pink wood. This tree is highly sought after as an ornamental plant in Great Britain and the United States due to its striking appearance. The Chilean Fire Bush is also a valuable keystone plant in certain terrains thanks to its dense root masses called cluster roots or Proteoid roots, which provide access to normally inaccessible nutrients, especially phosphorus. Don't miss out on the chance to add this eye-catching and useful plant to your collection.
