Adonis amurensis, also known as Amur Pheasant's Eye, is a stunning perennial plant with a golden yellow flower. It belongs to the Ranunculales order and is native to China, Japan, Korea, and the Russian Far East. Adonis blooms from February to March, standing at 8-12 inches tall and producing oblong to obovate-oblong sepals of pale grayish purple color. Adonis spp. is cultivated for use in gardens and is popular as a potted plant in Japan, blooming during the Japanese New Year. Adonis amurensis has medicinal properties and is used to make medicine. Note that Adonis plants contain poisonous chemicals, much like other genera in the Ranunculaceae. Order now and add this striking plant to your garden for a pop of color.
