Its smooth, pale bark sheds in thin curling flakes and its narrow-leaved crown smells strongly of lemons. This tree is winter hardy and can tolerate drought, making it a perfect addition to your garden or as a houseplant. Its essential oil mainly consists of citronellal, which is produced largely in Brazil and China. The refined version of this oil is used in insect repellents and is widely known as "Citriodiol".
