Discover the Keteleeria evelyniana, also known as the Evelyn Keteleeria or Yunnan Youshan, a remarkable species of conifer native to southern China, Laos and Vietnam. This tree can reach up to 130 ft in height and has insect-resistant timber that is highly valued for construction and household furniture making. Keteleeria evelyniana grows at elevations above 1600 ft in Vietnam and prefers neutral soils, often found in association with Pinus spp. or with species of Fagaceae and Lauraceae. It is the most widespread conifer in NW Vietnam and the seeds are rich in essential oil that can be used for burning and soap production. Unfortunately, the species is considered vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, due to a significant population decline and fragmentation. Don't miss the opportunity to own a piece of this magnificent species and contribute to their preservation.
