Coreopsis lanceolata 'Sunburst', also known as Lance Coreopsis or Lanceleaf Tickseed, is a stunning perennial plant that produces yellow, double flowerheads up to 2.5 inches across. This showy, clump-forming plant grows to a height of 1.5-3 feet and spreads up to 1.5 feet wide. It is a native plant found throughout the eastern part of the United States, in many parts of the western U.S., Canada, and Mexico. 'Sunburst' is easily established by seed and will even reseed itself if flowerheads are not removed before they mature. This plant is tolerant of heat, humidity, and drought, making it an ideal addition to gardens in dry to medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun. It is attractive to bees and makes an excellent cut flower. With proper care, this plant will naturalize to form large colonies. Division may be needed every 2-3 years to maintain robustness if grown in borders. So, cultivate this Lance Coreopsis for a stunning addition to your garden.
