Callicarpa dichotoma, also known as Purple Beautyberry or Early Amethyst, is a species of beautyberry commonly cultivated for ornamental use in gardens. This shrub produces lavender flowers from June to August, followed by clusters of striking violet fruits in October. Although the berries are bitter and unfit for culinary use, they provide food for wildlife. This species can be found in China, Vietnam, Korea, and Japan.
