Abies forrestii var. georgei, also known as George's fir, is a variety of Forrest fir that is native to western China. It is a small to medium-sized tree, growing to heights of 30-60 feet (10-20 m). The bark is smooth and gray-brown when young, becoming darker and more fissured with age. The needles are dark green, 1-2 inches (2.5-5 cm) long, and arranged in two rows on the shoot. The cones are purple, 2-3 inches (5-7.5 cm) long, and borne upright on the branches.
Abies forrestii var. georgei is distinguished from the type variety by its more densely pubescent shoots, leaves that are slightly longer and have slightly revolute margins, and cone bracts that are exserted and broad. It is a rare tree in the wild, but it is cultivated in some gardens.
